Manuka Doctor is cruelty free but not 100% vegan

Manuka Doctor pledges that the brand does not conduct, contract out or fund animal testing in the developing, manufacturing or marketing of their products. Whilst Manuka Doctor recognises the importance of customer safety, the brand believes this can be sufficiently achieved without animal cruelty. Manuka Doctor is cruelty free and stands against animal testing. Furthermore, Manuka Doctor does not export its products to mainland China and/or other countries, where animal testing is required by law.

Cruelty free statement

Q: Is Manuka Doctor Skincare tested on animals?

A: We do not test our products on animals and our bees live happily in open, natural surrounds and are not affected by how we source their venom.

So while we just love that bees naturally produce the honey and venom that help give us beautiful looking skin, we take careful steps to ensure bees are not harmed in the process. For bee venom collection, a glass pane, with a light electrical current running through it, is placed near our bees. The current attracts the bees to sting the glass, which leaves the venom on the surface. Because it’s glass, the bees don’t lose their stinger, nor are they harmed in anyway.
