Essence is cruelty free but not 100% vegan

Essence pledges that the brand does not conduct, contract out or fund animal testing in the developing, manufacturing or marketing of their products. Whilst Essence recognises the importance of customer safety, the brand believes this can be sufficiently achieved without animal cruelty. Essence is cruelty free and stands against animal testing. Furthermore, Essence does not export its products to mainland China and/or other countries, where animal testing is required by law.

Cruelty free statement

Testing on animals is a no-go for essence. We do not conduct animal testing and do not commission anyone else to do so either. Not in the European union or anywhere else in the world. We never have and we never will. the contracts with our clients state that they must manufacture products in compliance with European union law, which strictly prohibits testing on animals.

Cosnova Beauty owns and manages Essence. Despite the ownership, Essence remains cruelty free. Essence shares the umbrella company with Catrice.
