If someone asks us to describe our work at Cruelty Free UK in one word, we would say that we are different. To understand what sets us apart from numerous cruelty free resources, we would like to explain what we do and don’t do, what resources we use and how we can help you to choose genuinely cruelty free cosmetics.

Animal testing is a complex subject, but many private cruelty free resources make it seem simple and one-dimensional. These resources often undermine the work the established animal rights organisations such as PETA and Leaping Bunny do. Determining whether the company tests on animals or not is a lengthy process which could only be done by organisations with vast experience in this field.

To get a cruelty free certification, the company must give access to the most confidential information, including the information about its supply chain. This information is rarely available to the general public, and the animal rights organisations, in most cases, would have to sign a non-disclosure agreement on their part. Therefore, we continuously stress that only PETA, Leaping Bunny, Choose Cruelty Free, and NATRUE have the human and financial resources to verify company’s cruelty free status.
